STS Media Retention Plate _ The Media Rentention Plate has been developed by TETRA as a replacement for the gravel, supporting the filter media beds equipped with TETRA's "U" Underdrain Block™ and "LP" Underdrain Block™ underdrains. Most existing filters can be rehabilitated using the "U" Block™ or the "LP" Block™ with the integrally mounted plate. Since the need for support gravel is eliminated, a deeper media load can be installed in any shallow filter. The Media Retention Plate is a porous, tri-molded, bi-molded or single-molded plate. The tri-molded plate (T PLATE™) will have a top and bottom layer of 500 microns average and a middle layer of 300 microns average. The bi-molded plate (B PLATE™) will have a top layer of 300 microns average and a bottom layer of 500 microns average. The single-molded plate (S PLATE™) is 500 microns average.
