Course Topics

Chlorine Analyser Troubleshooting (0.7 CEU)
This course provides participants with an advanced understanding of Chlorine Analysers. Practical Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Control Loops are discussed. A Hands On approach is offered and the theory is minimized.  Participants will be asked to troubleshoot simulated problems.

Alternative Disinfection (0.7 CEU)
This course will provide attendees with knowledge of the different forms of disinfection. Participants will learn about the foremost types of alternate dis-infection, such as chlorine, UV, ozone, potassium permanga-nate, etc. Also the advantages/disadvantages associated with each technology and when they should be utilized to achieve positive results.

Level Measurement (0.1 CEU)
Students attending this course gain knowledge of the essential principals of level measurement. Attendees will be trained about the different options and technologies available for measuring level, as well as how they function and the advantages/ disadvantages of each.

Flow Measurement (0.6 CEU)
This course will provide participants with the general principals and an understanding of flow measurement. Participants will learn about the importance of flow profile and how it affects flowmeter performance. They will also be instructed in the proper installation guidelines, additional technologies and techniques available to improve flow profile, and optimize flow-meter accuracy. Students will be taught about all the common types of flowmeters available and technologies and theories associated with them.

Gas Chlorination (0.7 CEU)
This course provides participants the fundamental principals and functions of Gas Chlorination. Training is largely descriptive in context and format and will provide participants with resourceful knowledge to achieve successful results in the field.? Students will gain a comprehensive understanding about Sizing, applications, systems, vacuum regulators, back pressure and Troubleshooting.

Sodium Hypochlorite & Chemical Feed Systems (0.6 CEU)
Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of System Size Set-Up, Feed Rate, Sodium Hypochlorite Stability, Gas Feeding Sizing Parameter, Ratio of Sodium Hypochlorite to Chlorine, Pump Capacity Calculation, NaOCI Concentration vs. Specific Gravity, Dosage Rates and Installation. Applicants will also discuss Solenoid Driven Pumps, examining their functions, Setting Range, Control, Relay Outputs, Remote Control, Installation, Commissioning, Operation and Trouble Shooting.

Chlorine Analyzers (0.6 CEU)
This course outlines Chlorine Residuals in water as well as the theory and principles regarding the operation of Analyzers and pH dependence will be discussed.? Participants will also gain insightful knowledge about Installations, Programming, Set-up, Start-up, Calibrations, and Trouble Shooting.

pH Monitoring (0.1 CEU)
This course will cover topics such as Basic pH Measuring Systems, Glass Electrodes, Reference Electrode, Electrode Output, Temperature Influence, Calibration, pH Transmitters and Systems, Buffers and Installation. Applicants will also examine the Setup, Programming and successful methods to ensure correct transmitter operation.

Turbidity Monitors (0.1 CEU)
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding regarding the Principals of Measurement, Online Systems, Choice of Systems, Turbidity Standards, Turbidity Transmitters and Sensors. Students will also be made aware of Absorption vs. Nepthelometric Cryptosporidium Parvum. In addition, practical applications of this device such as, Setup, Start-up, Operation, Calibration and Troubleshooting will be presented and demonstrated.
