Metcon Sales & Engineering Ltd. has been selected to supply two 72” diameter ABB Magmaster Magnetic Flowmeters for the Duffin Creek WPCP in Durham Region.

These new Magmaster flowmeters will be installed as part of a massive plant expansion and were chosen based on previous high performance at this plant and the unique ability to be certified in-situ to a know standard of accuracy. The ABB Calmaster system was the world’s first in-situ accuracy verification system and has been used by the region to certify the amount of flow from York Region being treated at the plant.

Metcon Sales & Engineering Ltd. has been selected to provide a PAC Storage and Dosing Systems to the Glenmore Water Treatment Plant in Calgary.

Effective Tuesday, August 15, 2006, Metcon Sales & Engineering Limited is pleased to announce that we signed an exclusive distribution agreement with ABB Instrumentation. Metcon has been appointed the exclusive representative for the municipal market in the province of Ontario, in addition to the industrial market for Northwestern Ontario.

Metcon Sales & Engineering Ltd. has been chosen to supply an On-Site Sodium Hypochlorite Generation System for the City of Winnipeg to be used for water disinfection.

The System is designed to produce a 0.8% Sodium Hypochlorite solution by electrolyzing a brine solution and filling storage tanks through a batch process. This system provides a consistent solution concentration and lower disinfection byproducts. On-site generation systems are ideal for eliminating bulk storage of chemicals and transportation liability.

The system will be started-up by the end of 2008 and the total installed generation capacity will be 2,040 kg of equivalent chlorine per day (4,500 ppd).
